I had two pizzas shipped to me in SC and no directions were provided. I called and was told to cook them at 450, without cheese, for 15 minutes. Then add cheese and cook for 10-15 more minutes. That worked perfectly.
Yeah. It's called half baked with the cheese handed to you separately.
You have to make the gluten free crust at home and take it to them. They will add toppings & cook.
Shipping starts at $80. It's sent next day air via FedEx and they only ship a couple times per week. You won't know the total until day of shipping and only if you call back to ask.
When you get a half baked they come without cheese on top. You add it at home.. You can move toppings attend. We got a plain, pepperoni, and sausage, mushrooms, and pepperoni. What we ended up with at home was a pepperoni with extra meat, a mushroom, and a mushroom and sausage. I would suggest that was as good as if we had not moved stuff around. The half baked are 90% as good as dine in.
They always take a two week vacation in August . Sadly Joe , the owner did just pass away right before their break .
Yes
You need to call them and ask. We are volunteers, not usually employees answering questions. Closing for vacation has differed in length and times during summers.
Called right at open on a Saturday night and already was at a 2 hour wait for pizza pick up. Got there and waited about another 15-20 minutes but enjoyed the craziness of all the people coming and going. The pizza is worth the wait, I promise! The anti-pasta is a favorite also!
Food was good. Service was okay. Wait for food was excessive.
It was a surprise in town this place. Great and delicious pizza. I will back soon. I tried the works with extra cheese 👍👍
Waited nearly 2 hours for pizza. There were 4 pizzas ordered in our party. We were told that the delay was due to one being burnt. Two of the four came out luke warm at best and one was cold. The other 3 were clearly made and placed in a warmer while the burnt one got remade. Pizza was nowhere near as good as it used to be. And to top it all off, no manager came out to apologize or anything. In fact, the whole staff acts like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to overpay for subpar pizza. Coccia House used to be great. Not anymore.
Going back to visit my hometown, eating at this place is a must. Although Ive never been treated so rudely!! I tried being nice to the lady at the checkout and all I could get was mean faces and eye rolls, not sure if she hates her job or what! I guess customer service was never a strength for this restaurant. It was $50 for two pizzas. One pizza had raw slimy dough, I was not impressed! I miss the good ole days with the crispy buttery crust! The wait was 1 1/2 hrs when I picked up my pizza it was room temp 😞 Better luck next time 🤞
Stopped by for a late night dinner. Pizza was great and staff was very friendly. Prices were fair and they offer free refills on soft drinks. They also serve crafty beers and good wines. The setting and feel of the restaurant feels very warm and cozy. Definitely will be coming to eat in more often.
Best pizza ever but long wait to get one but worth it
The sausage and pepperoni is so delicious. We always had Coccia house pizza growing up, my Grandma Zarlengo was great friends with the Coccia family and it was right up the hill from her house. 😍🍕
This is positively the most unique and delicious pizza known to man! Homemade and fresh ingredients, and a wonderful family legacy support this wonderful landmark in Wooster., Ohio. Definitely a destination spot if you are in the area.
You'll either love it or hate it. Tons of garlic. Expect a long wait especially on the weekends, but if you like the food and know that ahead of time it's worth it.
It's a Wooster thing! Growing up in Wooster there are 3 staples to life! Coccia House, Hero House, and the Wayne County Fair. Having been gone from Wooster for years, I needed to reconnect with my childhood roots! Love the pizza!
This is my all time favorite pizza. Unlike any pizza you have ever had. Be ready for a ride to flavor town. 😁
Lived around the corner. Smells were delightful. Even with a wine bar in back, pickup customers constantly streaming in and park nearby, never a fight, polluted or crowded Street. Dining room cozy and warm. Food-thick cheese smothered pizzas, addictive red sauce that tasted like Italy, and classy hor d erves like procutto with cantalope. The sweetest most efficient staff. Lots of parking.
Hands down the best. No more info needed. Double pep and double cheese.
The pizza is definitely one of a kind and very good. I just wish they were open more often. The hours are strange but it is worth it.
Recommended to us by a couple people so, when we were down that direction, we went. This was a Saturday, but we got there just as they opened. Pretty loud place and, sorry to say, I was not jazzed on their pizza. Ordered an appetizer (bruchetta) which came on untoasted bread -- so the balsamic on it just kind of made the bread wet. And these were two big pieces -- which I never saw before: like they took two pieces of Italian bread and dripped some balsamic over it and threw on a couple chunks of tomato. Also served it with BLEU CHEESE! Gross! Best part of our meal was the salads -- which were very basic. But they were fresh.
Love this place. Best pizza ever, hands down. We have been ordering from them, as a family tradition, for as long as I can remember. Well worth the wait & the 30min drive for me. I often tell people they need to go here at least once in there lifetime. I will continue ordering from here as long as I possibly can.
Another must visit place if you come to Wooster. They have weird hours but for sure worth the wait. Family owned. If you call and the lines are busy try again so worth it. It will take awhile to get your pizza they are always busy so plan ahead and do not call last minute!!
Great atmosphere. Clearly a favorite of the locals. Went for my son's birthday. A place he likes. He and my hubby loved the pizza. I did not. The crust on my pizza was hard and dry. Not appetizing. They had many other dishes in the menu. Next time, I'll try one of those.
Called and ordered at 5.15 and got there at 6.15 and still wasn't ready waited until 6.45 .. really wanted to try this place and it's the grossest pizza I've ever had ..sauce is bland and taste like garbage and honestly its disgusting. After waiting 1hr and a half and having the pizza suck I will never go back
Best pizza ever. We now live 1 hour away and it’s the only pizza we eat. Well worth the drive
Very slow service and soup was cold. Great pizza. Five stars for pizza, one star for service.
Best pizza in Ohio's
Coccia House is amazing!! The best pizza in Wooster! Nice staff, clean restaurant, they don't cross contaminate their food like some other places. We got to meet the owner as well, very nice gentleman! Try their bruschetta!!!!
This place is a hit or miss. Had great pizza once, so went back. Second time I just about threw up it was so disgusting. Minus a star for that bad pizza, minus an other star because they don't take debit. Minus a 3rd star because older lady was curt when I was purchasing a gift certificate from her.
Pizza was good waitress was good but the wait for the food was way to long . I Under Stand they were extremely busy and it was a sat night at dinner hour but waiting two and half hours for 2 large pizza was little extreme. Plus we had 2 small children with us. Why did we do it? We heard how delicious they were and wanted to try them
We’ve been getting pizza here for 30 years. There is no other like it. However since Joe’s passing, not only us but I’ve heard many other people make comments such as how much thinner the crusts are being made and all the other ingredients have been decreased in the amount on the pizzas. Eventually people will look elsewhere for pizza. Getting cheap on the ingredients and charging more for the pizzas will eventually come back and bite you. I would rather you raise the prices again than cut back on ingredients!
Love Coccia House. The best pizza❤️
I grew up eating this pizza and love it! I can only eat one piece as they really pile on the toppings. Other places you can count the pepperoni at first glance. The deluxe with extra cheese and bricked is the best! Was sorry to hear that Sam had recently passed. It was always so nice to see him at the register. I hope nothing changes and they keep making the best pizza in Wooster!
This was our first time there. We ordered a pizza with side salads and a bottle of a semi-sweet red wine. The pizza was fantastic. Nice and garlicky, the way we like it and plenty of toppings and cheese. And I found my new favorite red wine there! The Dornfelder was the perfect amount of sweetness, not too sweet, and wonder flavor.
Just WOW , for the Pizza Lover.. A well know local place, but no secret the wide variety of authentic Italian food here is incredible.
I miss Joe, he always made sure your order was done right, now since he is gone it has changed. This use to be one of the best places in town. Wait time is way to long, that's Always been a problem, the sauce was kinda watered down and crust was thinner and kind of on the hard side. I have talked with others and they agree, it has definitely changed since the loss of Joe, he was always very pleasant. I plan on trying again, maybe just a bad night. I don't know..
Grew up eating this pizza. It's the best!! No one else compares! I drive an hour to get it.
I guess a lot of people really like this pizza. I must not be one of those people.
Best pizza. One of a kind
World class pizza!
The atmosphere here is great and the staff are kind and caring. The food here is extremely good and filling. You get your money's worth. The only complaint I have is that it took a while for us to get our pizza, though you have to understand that not only are they cooking the pizza instead of sending it through an oven that baked pizzas in 7 minutes, they are always swamped with orders. This is a good place for you to sit down and have a meal with family or friends.
Wonderful service. Food was absolutely magnificent! Wait time could be better but it's worth it for what they have to offer.
We dined in the dining room and our pizza with everything was brought to the table with the center raw and a soupy mess. When you removed one piece the toppings oozed off the rest of the pizza on to the pan. Definitely not worth the wait.
The pizza was hot and delicious. If you like the cheese on top, this is the place for you.
Amazing as always, take and bake is the way to go.
Best pizza I grew up with it ! You won't be dissapointed
Mixed bag. These guys could be millionaires if they franchised. The pizza is great, always has been. Pepperoni is spicy, sauce is unique and well seasoned, crust is crispy and pizza comes with heavy mozzarella. But we can't seem to figure out why it takes so long to get in, to get a phone call in, to get the food. It's like they have one oven and it's an easy bake oven for kids. They don't take credit cards in the restaurant but if you have pizzas shipped, they take credit cards. I gotta believe that so they don't have to report all of their income.
Real authentic pizza. This place is in a league of their own. Everything is made from scratch and it really shows. Amazing! I can hardly wait to go back.
All time favorite pizza! Love it!
Waiting time for pizza beyond un acceptable. Been patrons over 50 yrs everytime we go it gets worse and we question our sanity. We try to support local and give back they have given so much. Getting half baked isnt so bad order a day ahead
The best pizza I have ever had
I love this Pizza.... I grew up on it, I live in Las Vegas now but anytime I get job near Wooster I make that trip n get pizza for me and my employees.... 6hrs driving today but it IS worth it👍👍👍
Heard so many great things about this place figured we give it a try ...our insurance agency office went down to have dinner on Wednesday night and of course the usual fare of pizza was served and it looked awesome ...the wife and I decided to get a couple dinner platter’s... ordered the big daddy pasta and it looked my eight-year-old granddaughter put it together... very poor very small pasta dish...was extremely watery...flavor was OK...anyway stay away from everything on the menu that is not marked pizza and you should be OK.
